Join certified Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Monroe County as they share information on preparing for a new outdoor or indoor gardening season! All workshops will be held at the Penn State Extension Office, 724 Phillips Street, Suite 201, in Stroudsburg. The cost for each workshop is $5.00. Pre-registration is requested to guarantee your seat and printed information, walk-ins will be welcome. The workshops begin at 6:30pm and end at 8:00pm. Registration begins at 6:15pm. Workshops include:
February 12 - Growing and Caring for Orchids with Bob Miskevich. Selecting healthy orchids, caring for their special needs, and creating the favorable conditions needed to encourage rebloom will be covered. Preregister at extension.psu.edu/growing-and-caring-for-orchids
March 11 - Winter Sowing with Carolyn Jones. Learn a method of starting hardy seedlings outside during the winter using gallon milk jugs. Step-by-step demonstration will be included. Preregister at extension.psu.edu/winter-sowing-workshop
April 8 - Seed Starting presentation will include list of essential supplies, simple techniques that lead to successful seed germination, and how and when to transplant seedlings to the outdoor garden. Preregister at extension.psu.edu/seed-starting-1
May 13 - Edible Landscapes with MG Coordinator of Wayne County, Diane Diffenderfer. Join the conversation about how to integrate berries, annual and perennial vegetables, small nuts and more into your garden.
